Re: “A look inside the Ordinary

Ate there last week. Overpriced, limited menu, noisy. They were out of lobster rolls and short of ice for seafood tower. Place was packed with people. Portions were small. I paid a lot and went home very hungry. Riduculous prices. I might stop back in for a drink at the bar, but never again to eat. For oysters..I will go back to Pearlz instead.. Best restaurant? Uh-uh. Vey Ordinary...except for the cost of the food. And I love love love FIG...go to FIG instead.

Re: “Buying local is not enough

Respectfully, I disagree with your basic pay premise. If you actually take the time to interview local retail owners, you will find that many... many... of them pay their staff a very good living wage, and not a minimum wage. The local retail owners are not the mass big boxes, and they rely upon staff to sell, and not just serve. Local retail is good for the community. Think about our Charleston local retailers...and the higher wages...retail that serves the construction trade, the locally owned home and furniture stores, the locally owned hardware stores. These places treat employees like valuable family members and pay accordingly.
