The Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 states that a parent may not give up their rights until 10 days after the child is born. The father in this case gave them up long before the child was born and therefore null-in-voids his previous statement to give up his rights as the father. In addition the child is not a US citizen like most of the people on this blog are...she belongs to a Sovereign nation, the sovereign nation of the Cherokee's which means that it would be the same thing as if she were born in another country. If you support the adoptive parents in this case you are supporting this Nations attempts to further commit genocide on the Indigenous Peoples of this country. The best interest of the child is for her to be with her people, her family so that they can teach her what it is to be Cherokee, something that the adoptive parents couldn't do and I suspect never intended to do.
