Re: “I hereby admit: I am a Southerner, I am part of the problem

Well written self examination.. We should all look to ourselves to make the world a place where people are welcome and respected, regardless of their color, nationality, religion, sexuality or economic status. A friend of mine from Charleston moved to a small town in Northern New York State while fearing the worst. She was afraid of persecution and rejection due to her southern heritage. Instead she found an unexpected warmth and support during her adjustment from her neighbors. Wouldn't the world be an amazing place if we could all treat each other with compassion and understanding and raise our families in the same spirit.

Re: “Video confession of Dylann Roof reveals disturbing views on race

I think he should get the death penalty. I feel heartbroken for the surviving people who are going to relive the horror of that violent, murderous evening for the rest of ther lives and for the families who have lost their precious loved ones.

Re: “What’s on tap for Piccolo?

I have my tickets for Spoleto. No printed public information for Piccolo? I don't know who dropped the ball on that one but it's going to hurt the festival big time! Maybe it's time to replace the idiot and find somebody who actually cares.

Re: “The Buccaneer offers a special Earth Day menu

I LOVE this restaurant. If you have nothing else(but everything we've tried has been fabulous), have the mussels. They are outstanding and for those bread-a-holics which I must confess to being a member, your food comes with fresh artisan bread. The mussels have a garlicky sauce and the bread ensures that you miss not a drop. Another big plus is the museum inside. The walls are lined with paintings of pirate ships and pirate's pictures. There are cases of pirate treasures including old weapons and stories. They have a few decent brews on tap and a nice wine list. We have lots of company and always include the Buccaneer on our Charleston city tour.
