Re: “Commerce Department rail plan pisses on Park Circle

I am hoping that Summey can help us out! I will scream until I am blue in the face and do not care if it gets me anywhere or not, at least I tried! I would not give up where we live in Park Circle for anything. I have lived on Sullivan’s and Mount Pleasant, in nice houses and neighborhoods for all those town snobs out there that look down on North Charleston. This area is a family, we all watch each others backs, wave to one another and the visitors that come in and out of the area, welcome anyone new and always do what is best for our area and the people that live here. We walk our dogs, run and even play Frisbee Golf without…. now here is the shocker being mugged or shot at. I get a little rattled, well pissed at the "low-income" and “bad part of town” remarks that are made about this area. North Charleston is pretty big for all of you that do not know how to use a map, to be precise it is the 3rd largest city in South Carolina with 97,601 residence as of 2009. Park Circle takes up a small fraction of that. Just because we do not live in million dollar homes stacked on top of each other and have actual yards and do not buy our family memebers Land Rovers and Mercedes to over compensate for our indiscretions and lack of family time does not mean that we are low income or beneath anyone, but I would like to think we a great community of smart, low key folks who rather enjoy life instead of trying doing things that matter in life rather thank flash our wealth and status around. I do believe us to be one of the "coolest towns in the nation" as voted by Men’s Health. We have free, I said free music always at The Mill (always great music), Madra Rua your basic Cheers, where everyone knows your name, Rita’s, Park Circle Pizza, Cork, EVO and Sesame that all give you a variety of great food, beer and wine choices. And to the state for shoving this down our thoarts or should our say bending us over. I am so sick of you not watching out for the people of South Carolina and doing whatever in the hell you want to communities without even taking into consideration what you are actually doing to the home values, businesses, etc. Mayor Summey I will back you all the way!! To anyone else with some snide remark kiss it! Sorry but them all stems from someone telling me its only North Charleston, NO it's Park Circle where I have lived for almost 7 yrs..... I wonder if this happened in Mt.Pleasant, they would not being say well it's only then.

Please Please rally the troops!!!!! This is really going to effect us Park Circle. I am sorry to be selfish but screw the jobs, I'd rather keep our area as is and not cut off from everyone and made into a rail town.

Re: “UPDATED: Cyclist dies following downtown accident

Considering in the newspaper and witness accounts she gave him a lane while turning he the came into the side of her. Dont preach unless you know what you are preaching about.

"The incident report states that Gardner contributed to the crash and that the 21-year-old driver of the Jeep did not. No charges will be filed, according to Charles Francis, public information officer.

Gardner was riding his bike south on Lockwood Boulevard in front of the Jeep when they both turned onto Montagu Street. Gardner rode to the far right of Montagu. As he did, the Jeep attempted to go around him by moving toward the center line of the street, some 6 to 8 feet from the right side of the road, according to the report.

Gardner rode back into the lane of travel, striking the Jeep in the front passenger side, the report says. He had a severe cut to his body as well as major road rash." Post & Courier

Re: “The Mill

I think that if you are mad that you were kicked out you need to put on your big girl panties and stop complaining and flat out making up immature lies. #1 Wally would never allow drugs to float around in his bar (HIS BUSINESS) #2 All the bartendera watch out for the other patrons and the bar to make sure no drunk idiot is going to cause a fight or get in the car and kill someone on the way home. I find it very funny that we have so many immature idiots out there who cannot handle themselves and when called out reduce themselves to getting online and bad mouthing a place that is freaking awesome. Hope you have a wonderful day and can one day grow up!
