I paid $8 for a chicken parm sandwich and drink. WORST SANDWICH EVER. Marinara was chunky and old and was the most repulsive thing ever. I couldn't even eat if if I were drunk.

Re: “Combating drug-facilitated rape in Charleston

Thank you so much for publishing this story. I was drugged as a CofC freshman at a King Street bar. I was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the hospital (Charleston Memorial? I don't remember). The hospital wrote "extreme intoxication" on my file. They didn't check anything else, most notably my raised heart rate. I was sent home with a mark from the IV and nothing else.

Not only was the situation distressing and expensive but it stayed on my record for years. It made it difficult to get insurance because of my "substance abuse." I'm so glad that someone is paying attention to what's happening at downtown bars.

She looks like a model and sounds like a rock star. I thought you were only allowed to be one of those things.

Re: “Charleston can't thrive if we expect everything for free

Good column. Don't let the haters get you down. It's tough for the college crowd to pay for events but residents have no excuse.
