Billed as a "homegrown art collective showcasing regional artists," this Friday's Trade Pandemic: A Homegrown Art Collective event at the Music Farm looks like a mighty fine showcase of some of the most original indie bands of the Carolina music scene. "Bands, DJs, screen printers, photographers, painters, hair stylists, chefs, woodburners, metal etchers, glassblowers, and a variety of other mediums are all things you can expect this year at Trade Pandemic," say organizers, many of whom work with the newly-opened King Street retail spot and concert ticket office Merch Underground ( and booking/promotion agency All-In Entertainment ( The bill includes sets from countrified songwriter Cary Ann Hearst, Columbia guitar hero Josh Roberts and his solid band The Hinges (pictured), Wil York-led indie-rock band Sleep Eye Giant, Columbia pop-rock band Shallow Palace, the newly-established Tent Revival (featuring songsmith and guitarist Owen Beverly), Chaos in Gotham, and songwriter Joal Rush. Music starts at 5 p.m.
