Re: “King Street's forthcoming Vintage Lounge plans to open before holiday season

Sounds good. I hope they will offer flights. And I hope prices will be more reasonable than Bin 152. If I recall the least expensive glass of wine was $16.50 and that was over a year ago. Sorry, but that is just plain stupid. I was just at Paw Paw and had a great South African Rose at $8.50 which happened to be so much better than the Chateauneuf-du-pape Rose priced at $11.50. Coming from NYC and attending many wine tastings in my life and going to wine bars, Im hoping I wont be disappointed with this one.

Re: “New Halloween remake to begin filming in Charleston

First of all. For everyone that is asking how is Jamie in the new Halloween movie. Because she did not die. In her last movie.. you need to watch the movie clip for the new Halloween 40 years later and then you will understand.. it is going to be a great movie.. happy to see Jamie Lee Curtis. Back I have seen all the Halloween movies and I think this one is going to be awesome!!!! Bud.

Re: “Activists plan protest outside upcoming Citadel-hosted Bannon speech

"People United To Take Back Our Community" Really? I fully expect this to be a native tribe then. Somehow, I doubt that. Keep letting the people know what kind of scum and true hatred are out there while you are shutting down free speech.

Re: “State Rep. Gilliard set to meet with Citadel president over Bannon appearance

Why does every person who thinks the white race is genetically superior look like they are about three donuts away from a diabetic coma?

Steve Bannon is a Nazi. Those who would condone his beliefs and provide him an outlet to espouse them are Nazi sympathizers at best.

Rational people thought this debate was already settled. But if we have to fight another war to prove that bigots aren't welcome, so be it. Confederates will lose again. Nazis will lose again. Hopefully next time it will be permanent.

Yes, too much suffering in the Charleston area, and all over the US and all over the world. It is sad.

Re: “State Rep. Gilliard set to meet with Citadel president over Bannon appearance

But where, Tupper? He has his opinions, and maybe folks of some persuasion don't agree with him, but he has the right to give a speech. Unlike the uberliberals we hear about being invited to some of our former reputable colleges, he just happens to be on the right. And when our representative Gilliard compares him to Hitler, then he is claiming to be the representative of the local blacks, where he is considered a Black community leader. I did not know the local blacks needed a "leader". They seem to be doing just fine on their own on the most part. What an insult to a complete subset of the population to say they need a person like Wendell, or that racist from NAN, to say they are "leaders". Bad choice of racists, don't you think? Oh, and you can thank NAN and Wendell to guarantee a sell out of the event over at the Citadel.

Re: “State Rep. Gilliard set to meet with Citadel president over Bannon appearance

Yeah, well, the man espouses white supremacy whose ultimate goal is to rid the world of the non-white drags on society using the white man's apparent "right" to succeed and control. That's way worse than despicable......it's inhuman. Speech that incites panic and violence (not unlike yelling "fire" in a crowded theater) should not be protected. This man is inciting the alt-right with dreadful and, sometimes deadly rhetoric. You've got to draw the line somewhere.

Darius and Beth Rucker serve as honorary chairs for the capital campaign to build the new Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital at MUSC. All of the proceeds from this show will benefit this effort. The MUSC Children's Hospital is honored and humbled by their very kind generosity. We are most fortunate to call them friends.

Thank you for a thoughtful and well written piece. The three responses you cite are quite accurate. Doubt, and its causes are a reality that most of us deal with on a regular basis.
