Re: “New Year's Eve Platinum Ball

Last year was incredible! I think there had to be 2,000 people there, the decor was stunning and the music was great. It sounds like this year's is going to be even better. I can't wait!!

Re: “Reverend Horton Heat w/ Supersuckers, Dan Sartain

The Reverend was on his game tonight at the music farm! Great tunes, in chronological order from each of his cd's-with an encore to thrill even the most seasoned concert goer. Never have I seen the main act humiliate the worst fan and then jump in the crowd after him-proclaiming that he must be thrown out (which he was) after he sprayed beer on a guest singer (singing Motorhead "ace of spades"...of course). Beers up to a great showman and doer of good deeds!!

Re: “COAST Beer Dinner

All I can say about this dinner was WOW! An antipasto plate consisting of golden beets, olives, feta cheese, pickled eggs, red peppers and salami was paired with Boy King Double IPA (and said Boy King was in attendance), a nice surprise that Jaime brought along to the event celebrating COAST's four years in existence. The food was amazing (butternut squash soup, wood-fired local shrimp & suckling pig porchetta) and the beers complimented everything nicely (Belafonte, Chinook and the equally amazing 2009 Blackbeerd stout - my personal favorite). To finish off the evening, a chestnut & asian pear panna cotta was paired with the blended Red Legs (60% Red Legs & 40% 2 year old Jack Daniel barrel aged Red Legs). Jamie & David make some great beers and the chef at EVO (my apologies to him for not knowing his name) made some impressive food. Thanks to everyone for a great evening!

Re: “Johnny Mac and the BootyRanch

Going to enjoy the festivities at the birthday bash at Jimbo's Rock Club when JohnnyMac And Booty Ranch show off their stuff. Johnny was somewhere about a teenager or better first time I heard him on James Island, at Bassist's Mitchum's home when Mitchum had him at his house and I was taken back then with his story songs pickin' on a guitar he probably still owns. Those were the days. And now he's celebrating his blankety, blank birthday on Oct. 1, 2011. He's cute as ever. Kindly, DebbieJo

Re: “Sibling Rivalry

It was our first time going to see the girls and we all had a great time. Our 10 year old boy is in love with the girls, and our 15 year old girl wants to be one. The "siblings" put on a great show. We cheered for the heatbreakers, but quickly realized either of the three teams could be our favorite. The girls have guts! Who know's, maybe Mom (me) will try out for a team. :) Good job girls! We will be back for more.

Re: “Fridays on the Point w/ Shawn Mullins, Chris McCarty Band, Simplified

Shawn Mullins has managed to reinvent himself over the last few years in a way that most musicians only dream of. He is an essential artist for this decade, not only for us here at 1055 the Bridge, (Radio Station) but for Southerners at-large.
If you missed him in the beautiful setting of the 2009 First Flush Festival, here is another opportunity to enjoy him in yet another of Charleston's amazing outdoor settings.
1055 The Bridge along with our great partners Ear For Music and The Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina encourage you to come out Friday evening, June 17 from 5:30 -9:30 to see what we know will be an incredible show. Tickets are $10 at the gate, and we ask you to consider bringing a few dollars for the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston to help us wrap our week-long Radio-thon.

Re: “Spoleto Soleil

This is a must see event, the artists on Broad street are simple the best you will see, if you have ever gone to an art walk you know the talent. It is the last few days of the Outdoor Expo in Marion square so you know the artists will have their best pieces on show for both events and at the best prices! If you haven't seen Kellie Jacobs wonderful pastel and oil landscapes you are simply doing yourself a disservice. God, I must tell you they are spectacular and for her talent very affordable, go see her at Marion Square on Calhoun Street and at 7 Broad Street, Hamlet Fine Art Gallery all year.

I can't wait to do the booksigning at The Blue Bicycle for my latest novel, "The Secret Child." This place has such a great reputation in the field -- it's a privilege to be one of their signing authors. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. - Marti Healy, Author

Re: “The Cool

Shooter's of Summerville is probably one of the best places to go if your looking for a welcome, down to earth place to hang out with your friends. From their pool tables, darts, killer drinks, their dance floor, and some of the BEST music around, Shooter's makes a great place to stop for a good time. And don't forget to try some of their food, they have great wings, steaks, onion rings and loads more to choice from! Stop in anytime for a great time! This place rocks! But don't just take my word for it go check it out for yourself, you'll have one hell of a time!
