Re: “Charleston needs an all-ages, mid-cap venue that caters to all genres

WTH? The Charleston Pour House is a 400 to 500 person venue that hosts hip-hop, punk rock, EDM, indie, Americana, country and so much more. The only genre I can think of that doesn't happen there is death metal. It's one of the best venues in the country (and has been voted so). Yes, there are cover bands sometimes, but it's also a venue that has fostered many of Charleston's finest. Shovels and Rope used to play in the Cuban restaurant that was part of the venue 8? years ago. It's 7 minutes from downtown. There's free music nightly on the smaller of the two stages. What more can you ask for?

Re: “Meet the producers behind some of the Holy City's most extraordinary recordings

It's seeing articles like this that remind me how there are so few female music producers in the industry (5% or less), and even less that are celebrated or recognized. Maybe the dudes that are featured here can consider contributing to Women's Audio Mission or WomeninMusic and do what they can to close the gender gap:

https://www.womensaudiomission.org
http://womeninmusic.org/

It would be great if CCP could address this, too.

Re: “Yonder Field's Bowman Bound festival has been canceled

Bowman is halfway between Columbia & Charleston on i-26 and an easy ride from Florence or Hilton Head on I-95 sounds perfect. The only problem is the festival is in BOWMAN!! A weak ass line up with camping as your only alternative for sleeping in a location which is really just 2 gas stations at 2 exits is a hard sell even if the show was worth seeing. Riverfront park in north Charleston would have been a better location for the line up but if a festival is gonna pull people to the sticks they need to bring some heat. I suspect ticket sales were the real reason the festival was cancelled.

That sound is as fresh as a "binders full of women" joke.

I would love to offer my time and performance of drumming and dancing by my band "The Deni Band" to this beneficial event. Flavors of the victims and am willing to do whatever I can to help.

Re: “REVIEW: Music Farm Charleston hosted Spoon's first sold-out show on 'Hot Thoughts' tour

Well! Thought that was a pretty innocuous request, but apparently someone disapproves. Let me try again: great review Mr. Crolley, was at the show myself and had a blast. Typically I write down setlists to share with a friend of mine, but in this case I was too caught up in the show to take note, and while I remember most of it more or less, my memory isn't what it used to be. As I'm unable to find it online, I thought I'd ask if you could post it. Thanks either way!
