Re: “Lindsey Graham calls Trump tweet 'beneath the office,' Tim Scott tells president not to be distracted

Wow. DJ's not paddling with all oars as it appears he is a "Scotter" in "Bizarro World" - and divisive himself. Let the white and elite gods think and rule the world. FNC strikes again.

Re: “Best Acupuncturist

Chad is awesome. I can come there worried or upset about something. In an hour with combined acupuncture and meditation, I leave completely mellowed out. Thanks God there is a place I can go for homeopathic care and afford on a limited budget, sliding scale basis. These folks provide a rare community service. I am so pleased to find them in Charleston...and the results are irrefutable. I love this place!

As a person descended from both Mexican and Native American ancestry, could the author explain to me why I couldn't use his same twisted argument to advocate for the elimination of the current U.S. flag?

Re: “Charleston firefighters relocated once again due to bedbugs in West Ashley station

What no one has mentioned is that firefighters encountering bedbugs at the station have probably inadvertently carried them home, thus creating a circle of re-infestation.

Re: “Why South Carolina needs more of the North's best doughy export, Dunkin' Donuts

Priscilla, the next time you visit a Dunkin Donuts(probably your first) take a peek through the kitchen door and notice the baking materials.
As for Krispy Kreme, I suppose they're not bad if what you like is a handful of Crisco dipped in processed white sugar.

Re: “UPDATE: 70+ Charleston restaurants have signed on to the Strawless Summer Challenge

Just an observation and a question, if you combine the number of plastics straws used at all the fast food restaurants and gas station markets with fountain drinks in the area, wouldn't they overwhelm by the thousands those used at all these local places listed? Was there any attempt to approach those type of establishments to get them to participate or is this just another case of virtue signalling?

Re: “UPDATE: 70+ Charleston restaurants have signed on to the Strawless Summer Challenge

To Debbie Haynes,
that sounds like a good, fun idea, but the taste of the Twizzler may not go well with the drink of the customer's choice.
I think the use of paper straws would work well, though they don't last long is liquid.

Re: “Health care repeal spurs queer dance party at Mitch McConnell's house

This patchouli infused hipster hack jumped the shark months ago but somehow the CCP wants to subject their readers to as much bad stream of conscience writing as possible. Last week he was defending an indicted urban terrorist masquerading as a journalist, this week it's the promotion of political groups stalking elected politicians. I get it, you want to highlight a local writer (Beaufort is local?), but for the love of God can't you find someone who is not limited to illuminating national issues with leftist-centric niche rants? Isn't Darius Rucker, Thomas Ellis Gibson or Catherine Coleman available? After all Mr. Woods has proved, repeatedly, that you don't have to be a writer to do these pieces.

Re: “Philando, Folly, and Flags

Mr. Akhyari commits the Fallacy of Association in equating Our Beloved Flag of Dixie with white supremacy and anti-black terrorism. The truth is that only a very small minority of neo-Confederates actually fit this category. He also ignores or is unaware of the fact that there were black soldiers who volunteered to fight in the Confederate military in the War of Northern Aggression, and that there are African-American neo-Confederates today. Consider the cases of H. K. Edgerton and the Black Rebel, as well as others whom I can't name right off hand.

Re: “Philando, Folly, and Flags

Who exactly is the intended audience for your wandering diatribes? I seriously doubt members of this secessionist group read the CCP since their membership would barely fill inside the Folly Boat. And how exactly is this group linked to the actions of a poorly trained Minnesota cop who over-reacted in a traffic stop. Oh, that's right, its the whole America is racist and Charleston is particularly racist mantra you repeat ad nauseum in most of your pieces. So, is everyone who disagrees with your opinion on the Confederate flag a racist hater? I do find this oddly hypocritical, since you ignore that the continual hate filled rhetoric of the BLM movement, you are so eager to defend, is the primary reason police officers of all colors are being ambushed and murdered at an increasing rate, most recently in NYC the other night.

Might I suggest in a future opinion piece you write about something in your own personal wheelhouse. Since you continually bring up and are proud of your Iranian heritage, perhaps you could enlighten us to the historical and continual subjugation of women in that country, how through Sharia law the unfaithful are routinely executed, how gays and transgenders are systematic murdered in your family's native country, and a better understanding of that whole Iranian plan to destroy the Jewish state and exterminate Semites from the face of the earth. Of course, we shouldn't paint with a broad brush about a whole group of people, right Ali, after all not all Iranians are Jihadist terrorist killers, just a small percentage, small, but probably larger that those who might paint Confederate flags on boats.

Re: “Philando, Folly, and Flags

If you think white people like the Secessionists are insufferable now, just wait until white people are an actual minority. I have a bad feeling there will be a huge uptick in the amount of domestic terrorism, er, excuse me, "isolated incidents of mentally ill people."

Re: “Warning signs to be added to horse carriages in downtown Charleston

There is plenty of room for carriages in Charleston. It is not cruel, as the horses were bred for work. The signs will only work if folks would just slow down a bit.....and stay off their phones.

Re: “A look at how a growing method of online extortion reached into a West Ashley home

how about the local police going to senior centers and spread the word? And leave a card with a number on it that a senior could call if they had questions. Could save a bunch of elderly a lot of time and money.
