Re: “School superintendent faces backlash over teacher evaluations, blames staff miscommunication

Teachers should be evaluated. Test scores should not be the only evaluation but they should be a 50/50 part of it. Teachers are there to educate, so I think it's fair to have test scores as part of their evaluation.

So basically Kimberly Hambric wants the building to sit there abandoned for eternity.

Re: “Halls Chophouse

12$ liquor drinks you get for $5 dollars everywhere else and average mail order Allen Bros. steaks, yet the tourists flock to this place. All the locals do is laugh. The family has a well deserved reputation as the most freaky, eccentric family in Charleston, which is why the locals stay away.

Re: “After 16 years in business, Cypress restaurant will close for good Sun. May 28

Sad to see so many local restaurants closing lately. I wish the best for chef and staff. I also wish to not see a b-b-q restaurant open there. Or a chain restaurant. Or a ridiculously priced small plates joint. Or a barren, noisy, urban-rustic place without a shred of upholstery.

This Texan never heard of a burger called a stack. Not in Houston anyway...

This is such a well-written article. Both locals and visitors are bound to make use of this guide. Thank you so much. Queen Street Grocery and all the views sound especially tempting....

Re: “New ad from McDonald’s UK provides a startling glimpse into South Carolina life

I remember seeing signs for the various states of "American burgers" at Maccies a few years ago. Each and every one looked so hilariously off-base, I wondered it if it weren't on purpose. I haven't laughed so much at a sandwich since I was taught to pronounce bologna.

Re: “Summer etiquette from an enlightened caveman

It's also worth comparing an adult enjoying a beverage to a baby/toddler having to enjoy theirs under a blanket. It's freaking hot under there.
Mothers can't overheat their babies just so absolutely no one sees some boob skin. We'll try to be discreet sometimes, but come on. It's too hot for a blanket in the summer.

Needs lump crab and cocktail sauce (or pulled pork) for a South Carolina stack.

Re: “Confessions of a Southern Charm Newbie: Our New Business Mentality

I think everyone knows what Soylent [green] is made of by now. :D

I keep hearing about this Citadel portrait yet no one places it in their post, what's up with that? Was the screen shot too difficult? I guess I need to watch this episode, but the recaps from here and Island Packet are too much fun to read!

Good job as per the usual! BZ

Re: “Confessions of a Southern Charm Newbie: Our New Business Mentality

Not sure the audience knows this..I could not believe when I saw Georgette Mosbacher!! She is a huge socialite in NYC! I mean big! She is a business woman, political activist, Chairman of the Green Beret Foundation. She raises money for many charities. She is a class act. She bought the cosmetic firm La Prairie. A very expensive line. But fantastic. You cannot get it in Charleston. The reason She and Patricia said if you mention guns at a Manhattan party, is because they are all anti gun up there.....these gals are true republicans. Georgette raises money for the GOP. I think she is fabulous. I Know of her because I am from NYC and have followed her from the NYC Newspapers through the years. I love both those dames.....

You think anyone knew what you meant by "soylent"????
