Re: “How Catherine Templeton uses social media to stir up the red meat base

I agree, Annabelle, and us independents should vote in massive numbers against people like Templeton too.

Re: “1 Broad Street restaurant will unlock its doors Sun. Nov. 26

Oh, I was referring to BIALY, when I was asking where they were getting those. Not the rest of the food. Bialys only exist in NYC. Again , do your research. You cannot find them anywhere , including Los Angeles, where they have a lot of Jewish Delis. And they are very hard to make. There is only one place in the Lower East Side that bakes them. If they are making them? They will not be the same. And the fact they want to serve them, with Kimchi? Its sacrilegious. If people in NYC knew this, even the non Jews, they would be up in arms. How would you Southerners like it, if New Yorkers would take Southern dishes and mix it up with traditional Yankee dishes. Or French and Italian cuisine. It just isnt done up North. Or, out in LA. Why down here, anything that tries to be different, there still has to have a Southern influence on it. We have enough of those. I think the tourists have a plethora of those.

How I would love for a Greek Diner to open. Ever been in one of those? Probably not. A really good French Bistro. Not Rue de Jean, that serves Sushi. Google Odeon in TriBeCa. Or Cafe Luxembourg on the UWS. Or Osteria Mozza. In LA. Owned by Mario Batali and Nancy Silverton, who happened to come here last year for the Food and Wine Festival. She spoke at a lecture along with Danny Meyer, and Ruth Reichel. And if you never heard of them, Google them. And Google The menus of those restaurants. Its just as easy to open something good than something bad. And there is a lot of bad and over priced in this town.

Re: “1 Broad Street restaurant will unlock its doors Sun. Nov. 26

Ive been to South Korea....Try being in an elevator with a bunch of Koreans. The stuff is God awful. I have been there on business and all us hated it. It will ooze out of your pours. So I know what Im talking about. I love Waffle House. The best Pecan Waffles ever. How about opening a more upscale Waffle House? And if you are saying International? You have Scottish smoked salmon...give me a break. And Cream Cheese and lox on a bagel is a Jewish NYC thing. Although you can get in Los Angeles. So, sorry, Smoked Salmon is just not from Nova Scotia. Do your research. So you need to learn the wicked truth. It also comes from Alaska.....

I suggest the bunch of you take a visit to Manhattan and Los Angeles for a week. Go to some of the casual restaurants there. Maybe you will learn something. One thing I know what Im talking about is food. Ive been to culinary school. But I have traveled to many places in Europe, Asia, South America and the US and ate my way through them. I know more than the average person in this town. Sorry. This place wont make it. Or they will be changing that menu in a heart beat. Or the millennials going, just dont know any better and it will be the Emperors New Clothes.

LYNNAR, "straight forward food?" You go to waffle house, 6 locations in the area for ya. Don't knock it to you try it. You complain about Southern food and international influenced food. But am fine with cream cheese and nova? Btw, Nova Scotia is Canadian. It's the wicked truth!

Re: “Men accused of sexual misconduct are incapable of owning their actions

You forgot the biggest "well actually" of them all. Come on you remember. "it depends on what your definition of "IS" is." That old freak show ex prez Clinton. Many victims. I find it odd that you only referenced Hollywood. No mention of the politicians.

Re: “Meet some of the Holy City's fiercest DJs

Who do you have to orally satisfy around city paper to get these free advertisements? Im calling bullshit. Never heard of even ONE of you on or around market street. Obviously DJ Kavianni or the renessance or any of the other REAL Djs in charleston didnt pay enough for the fake press.

Its funny how they talk about rap ect when everyone in charleston wants to hear sweet caroline and other POP songs when drunk hanging out with friends.. Stupid article

Playing Dr Dre/kanye west s ongs to a crowd of drunk people does NOT constitute the "rap scene" of charleston...lol

Re: “Men accused of sexual misconduct are incapable of owning their actions

Oh but you dont care about how biased the media is, and how there are more important things going on but the "entertainment news" industry which you are trying to work for tries to act as if it protects and informs us. Well just so you know.... Your little circle of friends and colleagues may give you lip service, but MOST PEOPLE in the educated world correctly see you as ignorant VULTURES trying to make a quick buck repeating THE SAME STORY over and over with your dumb opinions attached as well. You are as smutty and on the same level as daytime tv ambulance chaser lawyer commercials and almost as pathetic and useless.

I dont respect this article, and honestly this writing which belongs in a high school paper makes me respect you alot less. I like harvey weinstein, and these allegations are called "having money". Stop making it about you. Hate the media for what it is and leave sexist ultra sensitive narrative about how you were hurt by daddy out of it.

Re: “A transcription software ranked Nikki Haley as the best political speaker

No wonder saudi arabians like you pro israel columbia sc bible thumping people. You both teach your religions as genocidal maniacs with holy wars. Down with blood for israel and oil! Down with Saudi Arabia! Bomb the saudis and steal their oil!

Please! Someone destroy the temple mount and watch the jews and muslims cry! Destroy the site! Mosque synagogue and all! Teach this scum that they are human beings and not some stupid religion for hypocrites.

We can make sure moses and mohammed teachings stay in "heaven" where they belong. Their followers misunderstand the point of their religions anyways.

I think jesus would say destroy their temple and salt the site so it remains dead forever to remind people what these whollt crap sites do for the earth.

Re: “A transcription software ranked Nikki Haley as the best political speaker

Now she is nothing! She works for the U.N. which has no power, and NOBODY (even the u.s.) cares what legislation they pass. Lol Haley is a loser! Trump took care of her ugly ass. Down with war mongering whore mongers! We want our money from when Haley forced our state to shut down over the weather channel and a tropical storm. Haley sucks and hopefully her fake media boosted popularity will soon be in the shitter like weinstein and michael jackson.

What else would you expect from a columbia south carolina.politician but retardation and televangelism? At least she was "promoted" before her tool box ass turned hoe for the weapons companies like lyndsey graham. Traitors! Send them in chains to Israel!

Uhhhhh kimchi and pastrami lox are definitely things you don't have to import and I'm guessing they're made at the restaurant. Also, have you been to a grocery store lately. Fresh Kimchi is widely available.

Unless Dems get out and vote vote in massive numbers, the baying dogs who demand this kind of red meat will indeed propel people like Templeton to political wins.

Lynnar who cares? Then you and "your people" went on to create palestine as a big concentration camp so stuff it or do us all a favor and move to israel since you love it more than thr USA which is your real country.

Tired of hearing this same old played out steven spielberg view of the world which is bullcrap. Try being a palestinian and then tell me what your going through or shut up lynnar. War makes bad guys out of everyone. Go trump!

Menu looks awful. Kimchi? Pastrami lox?? Bialy. Where will they get those, unless frozen from the Lower East Side. You can only get from Manhattan. Why cant we get a place with straight forward food? And no pork, ham hock, pork grinds...or with Korean influences. Does everything have to be Southern in this town. Charleston is getting transplants from north of the Mason Dixon line. How about a schmear of cream cheese and nova?? Why re-invent the wheel? How about regular pastrami? I just dont get it?

Re: “Arlo Guthrie charts own path only to discover his father led the way

I enjoyed your paragraph, Ima. Arlo is outstanding as far as I'm concerned. I've seen him live on three occasions, I completely dig that the performer isn't in control of venue or ticket prices, but damn Sam...an individual can afford to see this legend..his music is real, it's still applicable, and he does a wonderful job getting it out there...Arlo, you're not forgotten, some still adore you...Thanks, Ima O.

Re: “Men accused of sexual misconduct are incapable of owning their actions

Thank you! Many years ago (early 90's) I called into a radio station (might have been Bubba's station) to complain about comments they had made about seeing a woman's genital area without her consent (I think it involved some sort of amusement ride). I was treated with frank hostility & ridicule. I never listened to that station again. And I have other stories. We all do. #MeToo

Re: “Resistance movement must fight hypocrisy to survive

Lynnar, of course not all who voted for Trump are racist. Some are not. Some voted for Trump because of issues like abortion and Obamacare and putting ultraconservatives on the Supreme Court and other courts. So only some voted for Trump because they are racist. But Trump is a racist. A biography of him quotes him on one page as saying blacks are lazy. He actually praised that biography book. He described the Mexican immigrants coming to the US as rapists, bringing drugs, etc. He married 3 women and all 3 were white, even though two of them were immigrants, and most immigrants coming nowadays are non-white. He called an American born judge biased just because he had Mexican ancestry. Even the Republican Speaker of the House called that comment racist. Trump said Puerto Ricans are not doing anything to help themselves after the hurricane, he said it probably because most Puerto Ricans are non-white. He hired Bannon who led Breitbarb, a website that publishes racist alt-right views. He said some of those in that alt-right demonstration in Charlottsville are good people. He said the racist Confederate monuments celebrating Confederacy should not be taken down. So of course he is a racist.
