Re: “Confessions of a Southern Charm Newbie: Ain’t that Tuff Enuff

Hello, I am Brenda waters After being in relationship with Jeff for years, he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to my friend and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster who helped me with my own problem he used his Africa Black Power. Re: “Jason Ryan spins the tale of the Lowcountry's gentlemen dope smugglers in Jackpot

The gentleman smugglers that Jason Ryan rolls about we're actually Southern gentleman... they were very business like Southern Men. After some of them got out of camp I used camp for lack of a better word... they came back to the island because they had not physically hurt anyone and rumors about why they would come back did occasionally come up in conversation. Some had wives and children then prosecutor McMaster now governor I think had a personal vendetta against them.

Re: “How to Paint the Folly Boat

I moved down here from Long Island, New York in "78. In '81, I went fishing with my neighbor, down towards Folly, off of the docks at what is currently Crosby's, on Folly Road. In a deep water chute eastward of Crosby's, along the highway, were 2 or 3 lifeboats, and a couple other derelicts. One I noticed, was a propeller type, driven by a crank that ran the length of the boat. I believe the Folly Boat was one of these. Don't know what happened to the rest. Always wondered what ship they were salvaged from.

Re: “Artists locate missing work following City Paper story on Rebekah Jacob Gallery

As another artist ( photographer) who was represented by RJG from her first gallery on lower King Street until 54 Broad Street ( when I finally had to go and remove all of my images that I could find), I am so glad to see that the City Paper has done this excellent job of busting her cover. I have lost to her inventory around 17 images; of the ones that I removed from her space, four were rendered useless by careless damage. I can only say that the artists who were involved with her were trusting that she ran a legitimate art gallery, but who on earth really knew that she herself was an artist of a different sort--as in con artist.
One can only hope that justice will prevail- I was under the impression that her malicious, unrepentant behavior against so many in this small city would have consequences. This is my understanding of the law. Let's hope that she will lose the space on John Street soon, and perhaps relocate to Latin America.

Re: “Russian journalist Masha Gessen speaks about Trump and Putin's relationship at CofC on Sept. 19

Whether people in the Trump campaign actually conspired with the Russian government or not, still it is true that during the campaign Trump did all kinds of things to make Putin like him and help him. He praised Putin, he proposed recognizing the annexation of Crimea, he was saying Russia is doing nothing in Ukraine, he said NATO is obsolete, and he hired people like Manifort and Flynn, who were paid by Russians. So no wonder Putin favored his victory and got Russians to hack the DNC to hurt Hillary. And it worked, he won in the electoral college, even though he lost the popular vote.
And then after he was inaugurated, he fired Comey for investigating Flynn and others. But now he is trying to be careful, not recognizing the annexation of Crimea, saying NATO is not obsolete, etc., no longer trying to improve relations with that imperialist corrupt dictator Putin, so he would not be impeached. So my worst fears have not been realized. Ukraine has not been abandoned.

Re: “The Artful Dodger

Wow, I have known Rebekah Jacob as a acquaintance for years, living downtown, and had heard a thing or two here and there through the grapevine, but never gave it much thought. My opinion of her just plummeted. I dont know how she can continue in this town, after this article and people researching her court cases, which I never knew of, and I'm pretty plugged in. You can bet everyone will now know to avoid her. My guess is she packs up and does her form of business in a new town bc being a lifelong downtowner, she has no future here anymore having done this to people in this town.

Re: “The Artful Dodger

Great article, well written, highlighting what appears to be the JoAnn the scammer of the Charleston Gallery world. "What were their Expectations in general"? Imma gonna take a wild crazy guess here and say to get paid in a timely fashion for work sold by the gallery as per their contract. Go figure. I love Tim Hussey and his work and applaud his decision to pull his work out. I am surprised he waited as long as he did to do so. He has such good manners. If you can buy directly from any Artist, do so, putting 100 % of the proceeds in their pockets and no money in the pockets of JoAnn.

A lot of people in town are saying the journalist was honorable by not putting up the numerous mugshots in the article, and I have to agree.
