Re: “Mr. Bonetangles leaving Charleston, Night Market hosts event in his honor

Oh I wish I could be there. CHS and the Night Market mean the world to our son. Thank you, Charleston, for being such a wonderful, welcoming, open place.

Re: “Fate of Mt. Pleasant Moe's mural to be decided Tuesday, June 13

As a Mt. Pleasant resident who mostly stays away for all the reasons people like to complain about Mt. Pleasant, I found the mural on the wall of Moe's an excellent variation from a hood dotted with corporate logos. Of course I thought it was a mural and not a sign. Why can't the town leave something good be?

Re: “ArtFields fights for artistic expression as McClellanville artist's quilt of a man being lynched creates controversy

Did this bother people because they view it as pro-lynching, which seems pretty absurd, or because it cut too close to some folks' "heritage?"

Re: “ArtFields fights for artistic expression as McClellanville artist's quilt of a man being lynched creates controversy

She's a Artistic genius at its greatest and is speaking the truth! We do kill each other, hurt each other & bring each other down back in the mid 1800s...along time before that and now currently in today's time...whether it's black on black or other demographics degrading people people of african American decent...until we wake up the cross will always be burning...which symbolizes God crying because his people shoes so much hate towards each other! This bigger than black & white!

Re: “Charleston Symphony Orchestra launches new club, CSOgo

I was a member of the CSO's Decomposing Composers Society long ago. I hope they fill the slots but $35/mo is kinda steep. The parties must be spectacular.

Re: “PULP Gallery says goodbye to Charleston this Saturday

Too bad, it was a nice addition to art and cinema in downtown Charleston, unfortunately most of the locals in the area only support the growing alcohol economy. This is why we can't have nice things.

Re: “Stephen Colbert to host this year's Emmy Awards

Preach it, lynnar! Fuck those elitist celebrities with their arrogance and hatefulness who are so detached from the every day struggles of the common person. That's why I voted for a multi-millionaire reality TV star.

Re: “Stephen Colbert to host this year's Emmy Awards

All the more reason not to watch. You want to talk protesting? I am protesting every award show on TV, including the Tony's from NYC. I don't need to be lectured from these elitists, who make millions and live in their own bubbles and don't have a worry in the world on paying their bills, or paying for their healthcare. They live in mansions and are totally alienated from areas, they would never, ever walk through themselves. I do not need to hear their holier than thou attitudes on how they are better than us peons out there, and making fun of us, just because we happen to have a difference of opinion. They are sooo inclusive, arent' they? Ha. And as far as I can recall, the expression "It's going to be HUGE", was originally made by Bernie Sanders. Who, btw, sold out and bought a lake house on Lake Champlain ( on the Vt. side) for approx. $650,000. Now where on earth did he get that money??? The man was worth only $250,000 when he turned in his tax records. The man never had a real job in his life. He was practically homeless when he first moved to VT. He never made money Even as a senator, he was supposed to one of the honest ones. Interesting when he sold out to Hillary,he all of a suddenly bought himself a lake house. So Steverino can make fun of Trump and Melaina and his kids all he wants. I have a feeling his audience won't be that "huge". Or the most watched.

Re: “Participating in the Women's March on Washington? Make posters at The Junction Friday night

You liberal women are so tolerant. Make sure you bring that sign with an X over the fetus.

The New Wave Feminists has been unceremoniously expelled from the list of participants at the upcoming Womens March on Washington, once organizers discovered that the group did not adhere to the strict pro-abortion requirement for marchers.
New Wave Feminists had been chosen as an official partner of the Jan. 21 Womens March on Washington, until the Atlantic magazine revealed that the group believes in the right to life of unborn children.

So is this over-hyped hipster still stealing images from other social movements while casually appropriating the copy-written work of black artists?

Yay! This is by far the best book club ever! The food is amazing, the books are complex and intriguing, the conversation is invigorating, and the camaraderie is not to be missed. Itinerant Literate and The Junction is a beautiful pairing.
