Re: “Best Deli

Why do YOU hate people so much? Especially people who work hard and get rewarded for it? You are so filled with disdain for someone who wants to do a better job and get rewarded for it that it is some kind of derangement syndrome. I am not the one that says 'gee, you are working really hard and doing a good job but to be fair everyone should get paid the same' or 'hey their Mr. business owner, I am not in your business at all but I have decided that you can afford this.'

Go work a tipped or commission job, work your ass off to serve/sell as much as you can and when the slacker who you are having to cover for gets the same check tell me how that is not how it works. My guess, however, is you would be the beneficiary of the system and take the latter role so your mind would never change. Getting what you didn't earn because someone else got more is some kind of Bizarro World ideal.

Re: “Best Deli

Dock Street Theater ain't on a dock, but when the theater was built, the street name was Dock St. , going down to the wharves.
And everyone should be paid the same? BOY, the servers at Hyman's are gonna love getting paid the same as the servers in Charleston Place.

Re: “Best Deli

Why do you hate people so goddamn much, dude? You're a hate-filled person, and I think you need love and UBI in your life.

"No it wouldn't and nobody would not be able to reward people who work harder to serve me better. Instead the grumpy, unorganized and slow servers would get paid the same as the pleasant, efficient and fast servers who bust their ass to make it a better experience.

But at least everyone would get paid the same. No sense in having systems that reward hard work when you can have a systems that makes sure that even the mediocre get paid the same."

That's not how any of that works, but OK.

Re: “Best News for West Ashley Sweet Tooths

Lauren & her treats are fantastic, but I think city paper missed the mark here by not realizing that Chrisophes is now open in WA as well. The variety & selection available at one any given moment is a true sweet-tooth heaven.

Re: “Best Seafood

My Mother and I dined at Hanks over the Holidays. The food was better than marvelous. The Service was impeccable, right on time and they gave us the most quiet table they had. As per my request. Mother was hard of hearing. We loved it and will visit soon. Easy parking and the doorman watched us from the time we exited our car and on our way back to our car. We felt safe.

Re: “Best Seafood

We ate at Hanks last night for our 15th wedding anniversary, I must express deeply that they did not disappoint in any area. We started with the shellfish cocktail, the special peach salad with fried goat cheese, and the main course of Roasted Grouper and Sea Scallops. I have been to many fine dinning restaurants and put this experience in my top 3! Absolutely fantastic. My hats off to the Chef. I wish we had another day left in our vacation because without a doubt we would be dinning there again tonight. The service was also a wonderful experience. When we come back to Charleston, making my reservations for Hanks will be one of the first things I do. Bravo to you all!

Re: “Best New Hampton Park-Area Restaurant

Ate there today. I preface my comments by admitting that I do not like to eat at restaurants. I find almost all of them overpriced, unhealthy and unimaginative. Having said that, you should eat at this place. Food was inventive, tasty, freshly prepared and fairly priced. I sat near the kitchen and saw many items get sent out and all looked great. We split a cauliflower and nut app and a sandwich. A lot of food for two and bill was 20 bucks. Food was so fresh and ingredient combinations were original and delicious. I almost never say this after eating out but I will be back-soon!
