Re: “Halls Chophouse

The tourists flock to this place, while the locals laugh! Forget about the Charleston version of the Adams family that runs the place, the weirdest, most eccentric people you will ever meet, but the drinks are way overpriced, like double other places, and the steaks are mail order Allen Bros. steaks marketed as some amazing cuts of beef. Tourists are so dumb they think the Halls family i.e. Adams family are Charleston natives, little do they know they came here in 2009 after one failed business attempt in the hospitality industry after another in multiple US cities. Sadly, the jokes on us, the people of Charleston.

Re: “Halls Chophouse

12$ liquor drinks you get for $5 dollars everywhere else and average mail order Allen Bros. steaks, yet the tourists flock to this place. All the locals do is laugh. The family has a well deserved reputation as the most freaky, eccentric family in Charleston, which is why the locals stay away.

Re: “Mt. Pleasant Paintball

I had a bachelorette party planned at this facility this past weekend. I had 10+ people coming into Mt. Pleasant for the party. I confirmed the party with them a few weeks ago and then on the morning of, thankfully, I sent another email just following up and received an automated reply that they were permanently closed, the DAY of my party, 2 hours before it was set to start.

They were never going to let me know that they were canceling my group. We would have driven an hour to get there only to be disappointed had I not followed up. My group was very excited about their courses, but thankfully I was able to pull something else together.

Apparently they closed because the owner got arrested for sexual misconduct with a minor. If they ever reopen under the same management, do not support such an establishment. Wait for them to be sold or go somewhere else. I'd give zero stars if able. Completely unprofessional.

Re: “Frothy Beard Brewing

Was looking forward to this, but they only had 4 beers on tap, I think they had a dozen when they were off Ashley Phospate. Big pizza slices had ok taste, but they were obviously baked much earlier and then retopped and reheated.

Re: “Cactus Car Wash

This was the second time in 2 months I had my car washed there. I will never go again. They never washed the outside windows and missed surface dirt around the license plate area both times. There is no excuse for this when you pay $25.00 for a supreme wash and you get your car returned to you as I have stated.

Re: “Mondo's

They have a great pasta menu. The service is very well. This together makes a great dining experience.
The wine list is average and the the bar tending is weak. Their cocktails are always light for the money. The bar tender is more involved in the wine list than the cocktails or whatever.

Re: “Once Upon a Child

They have plenty of great stuff for very reasonable prices. I've bought lots of items that are brand new/never worn with the tags still on from Gap, Children's Place, etc. Not sure what there really is to complain about. The store is clean, well stocked and all of the staff I've ever encountered were totally nice. They're selective about what they'll buy from you, but they know what they can sell so you can't really fault them for that.

Re: “Once Upon a Child

The only reason they're voted the best is because they do a gift card giveaway to get votes. It should be considered cheating, they would never get voted the best if it weren't for the giveaway.

Re: “Crew's Home Improvements

Investing in home improvements is certainly one of the best ways to spend any money from tax refunds. In the long term, the value of your home can only go up. I recently used part of my tax return to have my bathtub refinished ( http://bathtubmakeoverwizards.com/sc/bathtub-refinishing-columbia ) instead of replacing the old one. Another benefit of refinishing is that it can have a positive effect on the environment.

Re: “Crave Kitchen & Cocktails

My new go-to brunch place in Charleston. Shrimp with grits and chorizo sausage is great. The bacon Bloody Mary will not disappoint. Great casual outdoor seating.

Re: “Crossfit Integrity

Wondering about the above review. I've been a member of Integrity since 2011. The warm up is anywhere from 15 to 20 min, and is based on the WOD. Brian, the owner, is present during the classes that are being coached (which I think is awesome). If he finds that you are using poor form or doing a movement incorrectly, he will point this out, and have you drop down in weight or offer suggestions for improvement. This keeps you from getting injured, and also helps you to avoid those horrific "no reps" during competitions. If your "habits from your old box" include poor form or movements, Brian is doing you a favor by offering suggestions for improvement, and your inability to accept constructive criticism is nothing short of immature. I'm not competitive, just there to stay healthy, but I really appreciate the attention to form, movement, and the positive and friendly attitude and acceptance of everyone and spirit of community at this gym. I started at the age of 39, am now 45, and have yet to have an injury due to anything I have done at CrossFit Integrity, and I've pushed myself pretty hard. I think that speaks well to some excellent coaching. The coaches encourage you to do your best and keep going. I'm really thankful for the level of health and fitness I have achieved at CFI. I'd encourage anyone to give it a try at the community classes on Saturday mornings at 9:30 am, and see if it's a good fit for you.
