Re: “Bagel Nation

I just paid my first visit to the Bagel Nation on Magwood Drive, and I can promise y'all it will not be my last! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they had my Reuben Bagel and Potato Salad ready in a jiffy. They were cleaning up when I arrived, for closing time was drawing nigh, but they didn't rush me. I left with a full tummy, a smile on my face, & a song in my heart.

Re: “Coleman Public House

CPH, as locals call it, slings some amazing upscale bar food plus more, which you'd never expect looking at the outside. I go here probably twice a week because I can switch it up and get a variety of different things and never get tired of it. Best mac n cheese in Charleston; blows Crave's away. One of the few late night food spots in Mt. P. Definitely the only place you can get salmon at midnight. Also probably the only place you'll find some very rare craft beers on tap that you wouldn't see elsewhere. Try the Asian glazed ribs, mac, truffle parmesan fries, burgers, salmon, fish and chips, bbq shrimp, lamb burgers, seafood linguini, and caesar salad with blackened chicken. There's something here for everyone. Atmosphere is casual, unpretentious, and not hipster-y or self-indulgent. It's just normal. Ask for Sarah or Kia and they'll get you set up right. Service is always awesome. You're either a regular or you haven't been.

Re: “Dukes Barbecue

This is not one of those new fancy BBQ places. Not cool or hip with trendy chefs and overpriced meat. This is a simple country BBq buffet. Shared tables, plastic utensils and loaves of bread on the table. Some of the best sides on any buffet around. The pork is good, not great however the chicken is better than any other place on James Island. The okra and the mac and cheese are just how your grandmother made it if she was from the south. This isn't a place to pull out your phone and post on Instagram. Its a place for good food, served by good people without all the pretense of today's hip BBQ joints. Nothing against the hip places..they serve good food as well but they serve entirely different types of food. Drop in and have a great meal!

Re: “The Wreck of the Richard and Charlene

Freshest seafood in Charleston! I can't find anywhere that compares to how delicious the fried shrimp is here! I order the Richards fried shrimp, even though I know I can't finish it all, just so that I can have leftovers to take home! It comes with Red rice, cole slaw, a hush puppy, and a fried grit cake! Its soooo good!

Can't go wrong with the oysters! I will definitely be back! Especially when stone crab claws are in season!

Re: “Fat Hen

By far my FAVORITE restaurant in Charleston! They never disappoint! For my appetizer I go with the steak tartare with quail egg or the steamed mussels with aioli. For dinner you can't go wrong with any of their options. I order the Swordfish over succotash (my absolute go-to), the Flounder nicoise, or the Butcher steak and add cream of corn! The service is delightful and the price is on point! See you soon Fat Hen!

Re: “Maui Tacos

Creative, delicious menu and super-friendly staff make this a hot spot downtown. Definitely a local secret, this place has amazing food and drinks at a great price. Where else can you get a crisp, French rose at a taco joint? The nachos are out-of-this world, and the salads are overflowing with fresh ingredients. They also have a killer salsa bar, with pickled veggies along with a sweet salsa and several other made-in-house varieties. Can't wait to go back!
