Re: “Monza

DeAl's gets a lot of love and deservedly so. But every time I eat at Monza, I walk away satisfied and routinely ask myself the question "why don't I eat here more?"

For a break from the PBR culture --- and obviously a different style of pizza...head on over and try it out if you're new in town (or, if you're like I was a year or so ago and just haven't given it a chance yet.)

I would even go as far to say that this is probably the most underrated spot on Upper King and has been for some time now. The fare/atmosphere/what's on tap isn't sexy as the newer spots, but it's overall solid.

Re: “DeSano Pizza Bakery

Went there for the first time this weekend for lunch and was very pleased. The pizza is fantastic, perfectly cooked, authentic, delicious. I really don't understand the reviewers saying that the layout or ordering process is confusing. It is abundantly clear that you order at the counter when you walk in. I like the element of surprise, seeing the ovens blazing as you come around the corner. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Re: “Coastal Crust

Coastal Crust did an amazing event at our house for the holidays! Their food is fantastic and the staff is exceptional. They made this event so easy by handling every last detail. Can't wait to do our next event with them!

Re: “DeSano Pizza Bakery

I will try not to be too wordy with my review. Simply put this pizza is some of the best pizza I've ever had in my entire life, and that's saying a lot. Artisanal Neapolitan Pizza has never been a truer statement. Every ingredient was bursting with flavor and those flavors came through in a harmony that made this pizza addictive. I can't wait to go back and have my taste buds blown away again. Not to mention, awesome open atmosphere watching them work the dough and build the pizzas and very friendly staff. If you haven't been here you need to go, it's the best pizza in Charleston hands down. Sorry Mellow Mushroom, Andolinis, and anywhere else in town, but DeSano wins.

Re: “DeSano Pizza Bakery

TERRIFIC pizzas. Once the dough and toppings are combined it only takes 60-90 seconds to bake followed by table delivery by very pleasant staff. I will be going back again and again for sure. This is the GO-TO place for pizza in the greater metropolitan area!

I've always said if I had a restaurant that featured "specialties" there would be no substitutions allowed. Failure would be swift, assured my family. The menu at Desano's is ALL "specialties" and there are NO substitutions: they have their reasons and they make sense if your interested, and I was. Desano's confidence in this concept and the superb quality of the product will prove my family can occasionally be wrong. When the craving sets in I only hope there's an available table or else I'll have to get it to go and eat it in the parking lot.

Re: “Park Pizza Co.

We found out that Park delivers to Tanner in Hanahan, which now makes this a once a week place for my family and I. Every time I see a Domino's or Papa John's car in the neighborhood, I shake my head. For a few bucks extra, you could get so much better pizza. If I want quantity, I'll suffer at CiCi's. If I want quality, I grab a large BST and add chicken from Park Pizza. Local business that brings the goods.

Happy to say, I have been eating here for over a year now and the quality has always been top notch. I've worked my way thru the menu. Delicious. Try it all. :)

Re: “Zappo's Pizza

I really enjoy the pies. Zappo's is easily the best I've had away from NY or Boston.

Re: “Zappo's Pizza

Closest I have had to NY Pizza down in Charleston; streets ahead of Andolinis or Mellow when it comes to pizza. Just wish I knew when they would actually be open.

Re: “Baroni's New York Pizza

Great pizza. I very much enjoy this pizza. Not greasy at all and a good selection of toppings. Crust tastes just like mom used to make.

Re: “Park Pizza Co.

I had a meatball sub today from Park Pizza that rocked my socks off. Perfectly moist and seasoned meatballs, perfect amount of gooey cheese, just enough tangy sauce, and the roll was toasted to a golden crispiness that remained crunchy while I ate at my desk. This was the best lunch I have had in months!

Re: “Park Pizza Co.

We love park pizza, and I have to get my Bradwell pizza fix once a month or bad things happen (fig preserves, turkey sausage, apples, walnuts, blue cheese, caramelized onions, nom nom nom). And every other pizza we've tried is delicious as well. And on top of that, the people that work there are super nice.

Re: “Crust

We tried this out a couple of weeks ago and found the pizza to be wonderful. It is a bit blackened on the edges, as the above reviewer said, but we also had pizza like that in Italy, so I'm wondering if it's more of a style issue than a technical issue. We also had the fries, which were fantastic, and the arrancini, which were outstanding.
