2015 Charleston Comedy Festival

 Charleston's little ol' comedy festival keeps getting bigger and better, and this year is no exception — in fact, if we're going by headliners, this year's fest has grown three full sizes. Instead of a single big name, 2015's lineup includes the triple-threat of Hannibal Buress, Doug Benson, and John Mulaney. And though as of press time, Buress and Mulaney were both sold out, there are plenty of other shows that'll leave you crying with laughter, from the Underwear Comedy Party, where stand ups perform in nothing but their undies, to the musical comedy masters North Coast and Pop Roulette. Help your neighbors take part in a feast of their own this year with One80 Place's annual Turkey & A $20 drive. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tues. Nov. 20 drive through One80 (35 Walnut Street) and drop off turkeys plus donations. The more you give, the more the nonprofit will get: this year, donors have committed to giving $20,000 if One80 Place can raise $30,000. Nov. 16 from 7-9 p.m. students at Charis Academy — a multi-sensory academic environment that focuses on meeting the educational needs of children with learning challenges — partner with Art Pot and AccessAbility for a live rendition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The show, Charlie at Charis, is the culmination of a year-long production; this pilot project utilizes dramatic arts programming to help kids. — Connelly Hardaway
