25th Annual Reindeer Run

When: Sat., Dec. 12, 9 a.m. 2015
Price: $25-$50

Run, Rudolph, Run

Lace up those running shoes and break out your Santa costumes for the 25th Annual Reindeer Run, a three-mile race that loops through downtown Charleston and starts and ends at Southend Brewery. Runners are known to don their best Christmas wear as they run or walk through historic Charleston, but that’s not the only reason to dress up —there will be prizes for the best adult, group, child, and dog costumes. After the race runners will receive complimentary beer inside Southend Brewery in addition to free food, massages, and musical entertainment provided by rock/country band the Cordovans. The true party begins at 11 a.m. with beer, bloody Marys, and happy hour-priced appetizers served until 2 p.m. “This is a family-friendly race that benefits the campaign for the new MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital to be built downtown, says race director Amanda Mahaffey. “The hospital will be a place for many families across the Lowcountry and the state to come when their children are in need of world-class care.”
