Heaven and Hell

Posted by John Stoehr on Mon, Nov 17, 2008 at 1:33 PM

On Fri. Nov. 21 at  8 p.m., CofC music students, under the director of Robert Ivey and new opera program director David Templeton, will stage scenes from the light and dark sides: Gounod’s Faust, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Carlysle Floyd’s Susannah, Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, Guys and Dolls and Damn Yankees! It’s not easy to build a top-notch music program. If you love opera, or want to get involved in the education of a budding star, call CofC’s music department at (843) 953-5927. As for Heaven and Hell, the show is at the Simons Center for the Arts, 54 St. Philip St. Tickets are $5-$10. For more information, call (843) 953-5440 or (843) 953-5927. —John Stoehr
