Maybe he was a mad genius and none of us caught on. Or maybe he was just mad. Anyway, one of the strangest and strangely intriguing moments at last night’s contest between amateur stand-up comics (to kick off the Charleston Comedy Festival) was this guy.
I don’t remember his name. I don’t remember what he was talking about (except something about Mick Jagger always having a microphone in his pocket) and I doubt anyone else does either. The picture’s not that great (my cell phone, what can I say?) but you get the idea.
This guy, even though he didn’t win the competition, definitely won for memorable moments. As Kenny Z notes during the applause round: “This is like a hostage situation.” Yes, it was.
