Hypocrisy in High Places: Abstinence-Only Advocate Caught in Affair with Staffer

I could not make this up. It sounds like a really bad movie, but it is all true. Indiana Rep. Mark Souder, a Republican and staunch advocate of abstinence-only sex education for teens, was caught in an affair with staff member Tracy Jackson. In this YouTube video, you will see Jackson interviewing Souder in a piece of promotion for consumption back home in the Indiana Third District. It was part of a series of videos Souder and Jackson did to promote his pro abstinence and family values image. You can see several of the videos at this site. Now Souder joins Sen. David Vitter, Sen. Larry Craig, and Gov. Mark Sanford as a family values Republican caught living a lie. Will Republicans learn anything from this experience? Don't count on it! But at least Souder has resigned, something the other three did not have the integrity to do.

And here's another YouTube on Mark Souder from The Young Turks:

And speaking of misbehavior in high places, Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, the Democrat thought most likely to replace Sen. Chris Dodd, has been caught repeatedly lying about military background. He claimed to have served in Vietnam, when in fact, he was in the Marine Reserves and never left the country.

So whose sin is worse, Souder's hypocrisy or Blumenthal's lying?
