On Craigslist: For $14,500, you can own an old CARTA bus

Love the open floor plan

Ever wanted to own a piece of Charleston transportation history? For a cool $14,500, you can ride in style in a sweet 1996 NewFlyer diesel bus, according to a Craigslist ad that floated across our Facebook newsfeed today.

The crowds will see all 35-feet of you coming down the street in this ride. And with its familiar CARTA livery still largely intact, people may start lining up to get on board. CARTA spokesman Daniel Brock tells us that the agency sold a number of similar 1996-era buses back in 2010, but there's no word on the history of this particular coach.

Now that it's put out to pasture, the seller proposes a few new uses for this workhorse: A mobile business perhaps? Maybe a hunting vehicle? Storage? This fixer-upper even boasts that oh-so-versatile "open floor plan" so many prospective buyers clamor for. (Translation: The seats have been removed.)

We've reached out to the seller to find out what our old friend has been up to, but haven't heard back yet.
