S.C. Sen. Lee Bright to give Confederate flag bumper stickers to campaign contributors

Help fight "radical liberals"

Republican South Carolina state Senator Lee Bright is appealing to Confederate flag supporters with a new fundraising ploy posted online by his campaign today.

Bright said on Facebook that he's fighting against "radical liberals and so-called 'Republican' establishment," who, the Upstate lawmaker says, "are coming after me for advocating states' rights."

In the days following the Emanuel AME Church killings by a purportedly racist gunman who glorified the Confederate banner, support for the flag experienced a "stunningly quick collapse," according to the New York Times. Companies including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and even Apple others have pulled products bearing the flag from their stores.

With a "quick donation" to Bright's political campaign, you can broadcast your support for that flag while you tackle the interstate highway, letting everyone around you know to "Keep your hands off my flag."

In a statement last week, Bright cautioned against taking swift action after the murders that left nine Bible study participants dead. "Sticking our heads in the sand and cramming historical symbols down the 'memory hole' may feel good and play to our emotions, but it accomplishes absolutely nothing."

Bright is also mounting an online petition drive supporting the Confederate flag. (It's worth noting that the flag appearing on the petition isn't actually the flag flying outside the Statehouse, but rather the second result when you Google "Confederate flag flying.")
