Colbert Busch debuts TV ad, Kuhn targets opponents in new commercial

1st District Media Mania

As Republicans blanketing the airwaves in the 1st Congressional District ahead of their crowded March 19 primary, Democratic candidate Elizabeth Colbert Busch rolled out a new campaign ad Thursday which emphasizes her business credentials.

"From intern to director of marketing and sales at a shipping company, to the director of business development for the former Naval shipyard, I've spent 20 years using our ports to create jobs," Colbert Busch lays out in the new 30-second spot.

Colbert Busch faces perennial Democratic candidate Ben Frasier in the party primary later this month, but is widely expected to win. Thursday's ad, Colbert Busch's first of the campaign, comes as the 16 Republicans in the race trade barbs in what's become a media blitz with two weeks left before the primary.

As a case in point, a new ad by Republican John Kuhn goes after opponents Chip Limehouse, Mark Sanford, and Larry Grooms over a "massive earmark spending bill" in 2003. Limehouse, Sanford, and Grooms have all released ads that claim each is more conservative than others in the race.
