Meghan McCain Has Weed Whacker Pointed At Your Bush Country

Thanks goodness John McCain is "not George Bush." If he was, his own daughter wouldn't be voting for him.

As the story goes, Sen. John McCain sat down with his family before deciding to run again. In South Carolina, voters were told that his adopted daughter was actually his real daughter from an affair with a black woman. The last-minute smear sunk McCain's S.C. chances and secured the state's title as the capital of nasty politics.

When it was time to consider doing it all over again, McCain asked his family if it was worth it, and they agreed. But that doesn't mean they're over it.

Meghan McCain, 23, said she cast her vote for Senator John Kerry in 2004 because she “just couldn’t get behind President Bush.”

“I just couldn’t. It’s personal,” Ms. McCain said. “It had to do with my little sister, and like, you know, you were just saying that the wounds of a political child run really deep. And there are things that I don’t know if I’ll ever completely get over.”

Alan Colmes, the host, asked, “What about your dad now?” and she replied: “No. He’s a great forgiver, move on-er.”
