Charleston Delegation Restores Local Earmarks

Posted by Greg Hambrick on Wed, Jun 4, 2008 at 10:33 AM

After dropping the ball last week, allowing Sanford vetoes of a College of Charleston tourism program and security at the Hunley to stand, local legislators got another vote and restored that funding.

The House even had second thoughts on two of three vetoes it upheld last week, including restoring $545,000 to a tourism program at the College of Charleston.

The House also overrode the veto on funding for the H.L. Hunley. The $257,317 will pay for security at the restoration site of the Confederate submarine on the former Navy base in North Charleston.

Go team. Lets pay attention the first time so this doesn't happen again.
