NOTE: These are confirmed filings only. Candidates have until March 30 to file.

Sen. Robert Ford filed for re-election on Tuesday, but he wasn't alone. Fellow Democrat Dwayne Green has also filed to fill the District 42 seat.

While Democrat Eugene Platt will again try to unseat Wallace Scarborough, local attorney Ann Peterson-Hutto, also a Democrat, filed with local party officials to run for the seat.

Other Tuesday filings include Democrat City Councilman Wendell Gilliard, who is running for the District 111 seat to replace out-going Rep. Floyd Breeland, and Democrat Rep. Leon Stavrinakis, running for re-election to represent his James Island/Johns Island distirct.

In local Republican filings: Mark Peper has filed to run against Democrat Colleen Condon for her County Council District 7 seat; and Rep. Chip Limehouse has filed for re-election to his Statehouse seat.
