• Yahoo rejects Microsoft's $44.6 billion deal. They say it undervalues the most talked about search engine, network, e-mail provider, file sharing, near-death website.

• After Herbie Hancock's win last night at the Grammys, you know that Lou Bega is liking his chances for 2009.

• Iraq: Same as it ever was.

If troop levels in Iraq remain at their planned summertime strength — an estimated 130,000 — George Bush would leave office with America's military presence in Baghdad as strong as it was before he announced his "surge" strategy in January 2007.

• Art thieves apparently aren't art critics.

The police said that they did not think the paintings were stolen “to order” because they were hanging in a row along one wall, and that the thieves seemed to have simply removed the row.

They were also not the most expensive paintings in the museum. The Cézanne was one of four variations of the same painting; the other three are in the United States, but the one in Switzerland was considered to be the most valuable.

• The price of postage is going up again. Just another incentive to help my mom figure out e-greetings so we can eliminate that one last piece of mail a year.
