• Another day in Iraq:

Twenty decapitated bodies were found today in a predominantly Sunni village southeast of Baghdad, Iraqi police said. The grisly discovery was made on a bloody day across Iraq. A car bomb killed 25 people and wounded 40 others in a busy intersection in the mostly Shiite Bayaa district in Baghdad today. And the casualty count from an attack on Wednesday in Kadhimiya, another Shiite neighborhood, rose to 10 dead and 17 wounded.

• Off the endangered species list, the bald eagles are having a much better day.

• Supreme Court expels race as a factor in student placements.

Immigration legislation dies. Heck, if you try to fix the system, what’s going to drive out the base come election day? And, I'm talking to both parties here.

• Get your geek on — iPhone goes on sale Friday.

• Spice Girls are back for a world tour. Hell, if Sanjaya’s got a fan base, there's still hope for the Spice Middle-Aged Women.

• A woman apparently tries to shoot her husband in the head while he’s sleeping. Things didn't go quite right:

Her husband woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible headache and later learned he had a bullet lodged in his head. St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputies initially thought Michael Eugene Moylan had been hit by a stray bullet, but later realized the couple’s story did not match up, Sheriff Ken Mascara said. Moylan, 45, woke up at 4:30 a.m. and thought he had suffered an aneurism or that his wife had elbowed him in his sleep, authorities said.
