From city spokeswoman Barbara Vaughn:

As a result of the outpouring of support and requests from the community on how they can help the families of the nine City of Charleston firemen lost Monday in a devastating fire, the City has established a fund for those wanting to make donations.

Donations can be dropped off at any branch of Bank of America or sent to:

P.O. Box 304

Charleston, SC 29402

UPDATE:

First Federal is also collecting donations.

at any First Federal branch office

Piggly Wiggly has also set up it's own fund.

Piggly Wiggly is proud to announce their “Charleston Fallen Firefighter Fund” in response to the tragic loss of nine Charleston-area firefighters on June 18. The fund, which will allow customers to make a donation at the register upon check-out, will raise money to support the families of the heroes who died battling the fire. Piggly Wiggly will open the fund with a $10,000 donation.

“We are so proud of the men and women who help protect us,” said Rita Postell, Piggly Wiggly spokesperson. “We are equally sad for the families who lost someone in the fire and feel that this fund is one way we can help them recover.”

Registers in all Piggly Wiggly stores will be set-up to process donations at the start of business tomorrow, June 20.
