Here’s the wrap:

• Today’s Dirty Mind Headline: "Bidding War Expected for Earnhardt Jr.’s Services."

• Bush: Benchmarks good, timeline bad.

Tony Blair is leaving after 10 years. He says the best part of leaving is that Monica Lewinsky will finally stop calling for a job. Damn that Love Actually.

• Remember yesterday when I joked that people weren’t watching TV because they were in line at the Wal-Mart? Apparently, they aren’t there either.

“Terrible” was the verdict from Ken Perkins, president of Retail Metrics, a research firm. “With Wall Street looking for weak April retail sales,” he added, “retailers did not disappoint.”

You know, if Ken can still be flip about it, the news can’t be that bad.

• Where not to put $5,000: Pajamas donated to Goodwill.

• One final note: Watch where you put that thing!
