A 2011 Sundance Film Festival official selection makes its way to Charleston when Redux Contemporary Art Center hosts a 6 p.m. screening of Miss Representation, a look into women’s role in modern American media, directed and produced by Jennifer Siebel Newsom. With its broadcast premiere this past October on the Oprah Winfrey Network, the documentary has received favorable reviews across the country. For $10, you can check out the film and receive a complimentary glass of wine. There will also be food and drinks available for purchase. Check out the film's website for more information.

The Greater Park Circle Film Society’s biannual A Night of Shorts will feature several regionally produced short films on Saturday as well, where local filmmakers including Matthew Mebane, Ken Cohen, and Rodney Lee Rogers will put their works on display. General admission will run you $5, and members of the Film Society will receive a discounted price of $2. Visit the film society's website to learn more.
