Gay Politics: N.C. Senate Candidate Comes Out, Ex-Gays for Obama in S.C., ENDA Vote

A few news items:

North Carolina Senate candidate comes out.

"I'm not running this race to make some social statement," Jim Neal said. "I'm running to lead in the Senate for the voters in NC — something Sen. Dole has not done."

Ex-gay gospel singer headlines Obama gospel concert in Columbia.

"McClurkin wrote on a Christian Web site in 2002 that he struggled with homosexuality after he was molested by male relatives when he was 8 and 13. 'I've been through this and have experienced God's power to change my lifestyle," he wrote. "I am delivered and I know God can deliver others, too.'"

ENDA is up for a vote on Wednesday.

Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) proposed an amendment that would reinstate gender identity and secured the support of House leadership to introduce it Wednesday when ENDA reaches the floor.
