The long-awaited release of the new Inlaws’ LP is finally upon us. Joel T. Hamilton (Mechanical River) and Owen Beverly (Indianola) will drop the record on Fri. Nov. 23, so y’all can bring all your Black Friday feels and let ‘em go at the Pour House.

The release is the two’s first since their self-titled debut way back in 2009, at which point Hamilton told the City Paper their music is “kind of like indie Americana for misunderstood hippy hillbillies ... We put the ‘R’ in rock music and replace it with the ‘S’ so it’s sock music. If you aren’t wearing socks, you might hurt your feet when we play.”

According to Beverly, the Inlaws formula hasn’t changed a lot since the first album. “We recorded this record four years ago, so it has become a time capsule of sorts,” Beverly says. “It will be fun to revisit the friendships and contributions that were made and to share it with our diehard fanclub ... Expect some lo-fi, honest, live recordings and songs that feature Joel, songs that feature myself, and a lot of songs where we become one man with a weird face.”

The album, entitled Againlaws, is a Shrimp Records release and as such, the Shrimp Records Family Band will hit the stage at the celebration show along with Jack Burg’s PunksNSnakes. So yeah, pretty unmissable.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., music starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 on the door, and available at charlestonpourhouse.com.
