When it comes to Christmas music, four local Charleston artists got that new new — and we're not talking cover songs here. Nope, these guys pulled a Mariah Carey and decided to drop original holiday tracks to the Christmas music canon. Too soon to tell if they're a timeless as "All I Want for Christmas," but these songs are still a sweet addition to the 2017 season. Check 'em out below.

This year, SUSTO dropped a four-track holiday vinyl called A Casual Christmas featuring two renditions of "Feliz Navidad" and original ditty, "R.I.P. Santa," in which songwriter Justin Osborne imagines life if Santa were to bite the dust. Sad! (There's also "Serial Monogamist," which Amazon released on its Love Me Not playlist back on Valentine's Day).

Former Charlestonian (but let's face it, he's still very much in locals' hearts) Young Mister (Steven Fiore) dropped "Christmas, Come Early This Year," on Thurs. Dec. 7. It's a sweet one you'll quickly get the hang of with those famous Fiore hooks he's so great at creating. With a bridge that says, "Well, life can get strange as the seasons go by/ Everything can change in the blink of an eye / But when the snow starts to fall, I feel the joy and the cheer/ Oh please make it be December, please Christmas come early this year," it would seem that Young Mister loves Christmas as much as we do.

Hip-hop duo Little Stranger got in on the holiday track action too with the release of "Christmas Jawn," complete with an accompanying video (produced by CHOP MEDIA) featuring Kayla Martin, who basically goes "green" for Christmas. From Tiny Rhino Records, "Christmas Jawn" declares Christmas is dynamite and Santa is the bomb." Duh.

The Dubplates have been super busy this year creating Marley Cup, collab-ing with the Beastie Boy's Mixmaster Mike, and landing at No. 1 on Billboard's Reggae Charts. But this talented troupe still manages to make time for singing loud for all to hear on their fresh holiday tune, "There You Go," featuring Mixmaster Mike himself.
