Local psych-fuzz rockers DUMB Doctors dropped a new set of tracks — "Electric Fire Sun and "The Stranger" — yesterday via Bandcamp, revealing a new, slightly softer side of the band.

Normally a high-energy punk-rock throwdown, the guys, led by Scott Dence, slow the tempo down a smidgen, adding harmonies in the ’60s-style, melodic, psychedelic “Electric Fire Sun.” And from the sound of “The Stranger,” fans of the Kinks would cozy up nicely to the brand-new, lo-fi track.

You can purchase, download, and listen to the new tunes now at dumbdoctors.bandcamp.com. Or just fire away below.

DUMB Docs may or may not perform these zingers at their upcoming show at the Rec Room on Tues. Aug. 9, but fingers crossed they do.
