Local Celtic folk band Castle Crossing will celebrate the release of their self-titled album on Sat. April 4 at Charleston Music Hall’s Celtic Night.

Members Jeff Castle, Regina Ruopoli, Ellie Jos, and Frank Ruopoli recorded the 10-song collection at West Ashley’s Truphonic Studios in January. The album is full centuries-old traditionals plus a few covers, including Glen Hansard’s “Lay Me Down” crossed with Merle Kilgore and June Carter’s “Ring of Fire.”

One traditional track on the disc includes “Will You Go Lassie Go (Wild Mountain Thyme),” a Scottish folk song about the beauty and romance of Scotland's countryside. “The Castle Crossing version is a spirited and lively departure from the typical ballad-style approach,” Regina says.

Celtic Night will also feature The Hungry Monks and Good Foot.

Castle Crossing’s album will available via iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon beginning April 14, while physical copies can be purchased at the band's live shows, including at Celtic Night.
