Rachel Kate records Daytrotter session

Posted by Kelly Rae Smith on Wed, Oct 29, 2014 at 8:11 PM

One-time Charlestonian Rachel Kate recently got invited to record a few ditties for the music site, Daytrotter. “I’m not really sure how it all happened,” she says. “Sean from Daytrotter tweeted at me about doing a session and we set it up. He tweeted, and then I tweeted, and we tweeted a bunch.” Based in Rock Island, Ill., Daytrotter is the home of Horseshack recording studio, and it’s known for hosting sessions with up-and-coming artists in a raw kind of way. Calling it The Great Hell of the Great Open Road and the People Who Travel It, Rachel Kate’s session comprises four acoustic tracks, including “Thanks Cheryl” from last year’s Rachel Kate with Love and Hate. Have a listen here.
