On Tues. July 2 Southern Femisphere — Caroline de Golian (guitar), Emily Conner (bass), Kim Larson, and Brett Nash (the latter two share duties on the guitar and drums) — will release their new album Houses on Fork and Spoon Records out of Columbia. The album was recorded live in the band’s practice space in February and March and then later mixed at a friend’s space.

In support of the new album, Southern Femisphere plans to hit the road after their July 17 show at the Tin Roof for a two-week jaunt across the South. As far as Houses is concerned, they tell us that the songs are inspired by their friend and family, sea creatures, and igloos. You can currently hear One Alarm off of Houses on the SoFem’s Bandcamp page.
