Mac Lethal grew up in Kansas City, where he put his passion for rap into freestyle battles, and all of those face-offs eventually led him to a career as a successful member of the indie hip-hop world, in which he has released a string of albums, Men are from Mars, Porn Stars are from Earth; 11:11; and his latest, Irish Goodbye . However, Lethal is probably most well know for his Tumblr site, Texts from Bennett, and his series of freestyle YouTube videos, especially the one in which he raps over the beat to Chris Brown’s hit “Look at Me Now” while making pancakes. That video alone scored over 26 million views.

This Sat. Nov. 3 Mac Lethal will bring his rapid-fire delivery to Cha Cha’s Tequila Bar for the James Island restaurant’s Dia de Los Muertos festival. The fest will include also Larry Donnavon, Kaz B, Shred the Verbal Tongue, Damn Skippy, Collin Gibson, and local hip-hopers Savage Souls, and it all culminates with Mac taking the stage to spit his nerdy brand of bars.

The fun begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5. Under 21 subject to a surcharge.
