Local punk/garage quartet Bully Pulpit has a new studio album in hand — and a new drummer behind the kit, too. Singer Edward Enword (a.k.a. Danny Kavanaugh), guitarist Rex William Stickel, drummer Lawrence John, and bassist Kelly Burt recorded a full-length collection titled Goldmine at the now-defunct Collective Recording Studio in West Ashley over the winter.

After John moved away this spring, the band enlisted David Bair (formerly of the late Shaniqua Brown) as the new timekeeper. They plan to independently issue it on Fri. July 27 at a CD release show at the Tin Roof. Local rock bands the Lean Few and Bones (a new group featuring ex-Shaniqua Brown guitarist Thomas Concannon) are also on the bill.

Fans can catch a sneak preview of Bully Pulpit’s new stuff when they play at the Royal American on Mon. July 16, sharing the stage with Alabama surf-rockers Daikaiju.

Check out for more.
