Charleston cover band Weird Science usually cranks out pop and rock hits from the ’80s at full volume, but the quintet will perform a rare “unplugged” at the Windjammer on Sat. Dec. 3.

Singer/guitarist Jason Gantt, guitarist/keyboardist Jason Cooper, bassist Chris McLernon, drummer John Befumo, and lead guitarist Donnie Polk plan to play a variety of classics and deep cuts at a special gig called Ignorance is not Bliss: A Domestic Violence Awareness Event.

The fundraiser is presented by My Sister’s House, an organization that provides services, programs, and resources to victims of domestic violence and their children. The event includes a silent auction, a drawing, and drink specials, too.

A $10 donation will be requested at the door. Music starts at 9 p.m. Visit mysistershouse.com and the-windjammer.com for more.
