Zac Brown Band put food and music together at Blackbaud

Three days of music and Southern cuisine on Daniel Island

Grammy-winning Georgia-based country-rock group the Zac Brown Band heads back to Daniel Island this fall as the headlining act of the three-day Southern Ground Music & Food Festival at Blackbaud Stadium. Presented by Landshark beer and Jack Daniel’s, the multimedia music and food festival is set for Oct. 21-23.

Tickets for the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. on Sat. Sept. 10. Single day tickets start at $57, and three-day passes start at $99. VIP ticketing options are available, including Zac Brown Band’s customized Front Porch Stage Boxes. The Zac Brown Band’s 2009 studio album The Foundation, featuring the No. 1 single “Chicken Fried,” sold more than a million copies. Their 2010 disc You Get What You Give debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and sold more than a million copies as well.

The Southern Ground Music & Food Festival roster is impressive. Acts include My Morning Jacket, Train, Eric Church, Fitz and the Tantrums, the Warren Haynes Band, Steel Pulse, Trigger Hippy, the Del McCoury Band with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Brett Dennen, and others.

Fancy cuisine will be available from Southern Ground Executive Chef Rusty Hamlin and James Beard Award-winners RJ Cooper (Rogue 24, Washington, D.C.), Sean Brock (of Husk, McCrady’s), and Mike Lata (of FIG). Beer, wine, and soft drinks will be on hand. Additional concessions will be available from “Cookie,” the Zac Brown Band’s tractor trailer-sized mobile kitchen.
