While there's plenty to do on St. Patrick's Day weekend around the Lowcountry, downtown Columbia’s Five Points neighborhood celebrates their 27th annual “St. Pat’s in Five Points” festival on Sat. March 14 with 29 live bands and five DJs on five stages and various activities.

The gates will open at 9 a.m. and the musical action lasts through 7 p.m. Headlining acts include Charleston folk-rockers The Blue Dogs, We the Kings, Seven Nations, The Airborne Toxic Event, The Movement, Mute Math, Josh Roberts & The Hinges, Manchester Orchestra, and many others.

Additional events include a shag throw-down, pipe ‘n’ drum performances, a pro wrestling promotion, a “Green 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk,” a children’ carnival, and family activities. Organizers have arranged for free shuttle service from a host of satellite parking locations. Admission is $15 (or $11 in advance).
