Hot Action Shots from Metal Monday

Posted by T. Ballard Lesemann on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 12:26 PM

Last night, I caught a set of very loud, very tight rock and metal from the Metal Monday band at Wet Willie’s (209 East Bay Street, 843-853-5650). It was the trio's second gig of the weekly "live band karaoke" series at the club. I'd almost forgotten how skillful guitarist/keyboardist Josh Kaler was at his job as emcee and bandleader. Powered by Peavey, he nailed just about every cliché, riff, solo, and fancy song-ending. Drummer Jack Burg and bassist Donnie Polk (sitting in for Jonathan Gray) were solid, too. As a proper power trio, they made it look easy, and easily managed the guys and girls who jumped onstage to sing each tune. Look for a blurb in this week's "Scene" and check out a few action snapshots here:
