No "Pussy" in Preview…

I enjoyed glancing at a piece on hard-rock band Artimus Pyledriver (pictured below) by Keith Ryan Cartwright in the Post & Courier's weekly Preview — especially the bit about drummer Travis Owen calling former Skynyrd timekeeper Artimus Pyle "one of the greatest rock drummers of all time" (he was good and funky and solid, but was he really one of the greatest?). The band is playing at the Map Room on Fri. May 27.

Most amusing, however, was the abbreviation in the feature and in the show information box of the headlining band's name of "Nashville Pussy" to "Nashville P." In previous pages, they didn't refer to The Fray as "The F." or Bow Wow as "B. Wow." Why the edit? What's more offensive, the word "pussy" or the idea that Charlestonians intrested in reading a story about a rock band named Artimus Pyledriver might be bothered by the word? (Or that Preview left The Defilers off the billing?).

Who cares?

Rock & R.
