Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned southern Sunday supper?

goat.sheep.cow.north is ready to introduce the charm of communal cuisine to their Meeting Street location's Sunday evenings. The first Supper will be hosted by Chef Will Lacey of Driftwood Pantry next Sun. Feb. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Lacey is well aware that this will be the Sunday before the Southeastern Wildlife Expo, and plans to incorporate classic Lowcountry seafood and wild game into the menu as a nod to SEWE. To truly harness the feeling of community, the supper will be first-come, first served, no reservations.

Menu items will include main courses like smoked duck tacos served on corn tortillas with cherry-chipotle sauce, crumbled castelrosso, radish microgreens, served with a citrus-pepper shaved asparagus slaw; the driftwood smash burger made with sirloin and Mepkin Abbey shiitake and oyster mushrooms, black garlic sauce, onion-tomato jam, taleggio, served on buttery brioche with a side of slaw; and the herbed sausage stuffed quail with whipped Vermont creamery goat cheese, macerated grapes, baby arugula, and toasted almonds.

Smaller dishes will include she crab soup; Brussels sprout salad; shareables like pimento cheese mousse, Lowcountry deviled eggs topped with Magwood family shrimp, a roasted broccoli bowl, and bowl of grits; and two desserts, a cornhusk meringue with sweet corn mousse and Vermont creamy goat cheese 'snow', and a mezcal and chocolate cheesecake with a shortbread crust.

Going forward, each supper in the series will feature a new chef or food vendor from the Lowcountry. Stay up to date by checking out the goat.sheep.cow.north event page online
