I don't know about you, but when the earth goes dark on August 21, I want a good meal in hand. You never know with these natural phenomenons, could really be the end of days and who wants to say sign off on life as we know it hungry, amirite?

With that in mind, it's important that your eclipse day eats includes a good open air space to view all the astronomical action. Here's where we'd head:

Buckshots
As Travel & Leisure reported, at 2:48 p.m. EST the eclipse will be right above Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge when daylight finally returns ending all eclipse sightings until 2024. If you want to give it a proper send off right there, head to McClellanville's classic soul food spot, Buckshots. The restaurant is putting together a special solar eclipse backyard barbecue and fish fry. According to Facebook, it will, "start on Sunday before the big event with specials."

Total Beach Eclipse at BLU

From 1-4 p.m., BLU restaurant on Folly will host an eclipse bash featuring live music, $7 Naked Turtle Caribbean Rum drinks all day, and a Naked Turtle sampling from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Careful with these sips lest you double down on the blackout.

Spectators are being cautioned to stay off the roads during the actual eclipse. In fact, why not avoid driving all day and head to the Tin Roof instead. The bar is hosting a PBR Eclipse Party beginning at 1:30 p.m. for a "once in-a-lifetime backyard sky party featuring a blow-up pool, hammocks, viewing glasses, and alcohol." A blow-up pool, y'all. Need we say more?

One of the major benefits of heading to the Johns Island Moose over the downtown one is the huge outdoor space and the restaurant is taking full advantage of it for the eclipse.
